RAM Trucks “Waltz Across Texas”

I spent a few weeks on the road all over Texas earlier this fall directing this awesome project for RAM Trucks. I really love Chris Stapleton’s soulful cover of this classic country song as well!

3 weeks on the road and I’m almost home. Had a blast the last few weeks with family, good friends, holidays, great breweries, haunted hotels, 5 states, 3 national parks, and over 5000 miles on my 2 month old car. See you soon Austin even if it’s only for a day. Bring it 2015!

Lee Fields & The Expressions at SXSW

During SXSW this year, I spent 2 days shooting sessions with various artists at the Haggar Clothing & Filter Magazine showcase. This was by far my favorite session over those 2 days with soul legend Lee Fields getting intimate covering the JJ Cale classic “Magnolia”.

Billy Reid

Just finished shooting another fun project with director Matt Rainwaters documenting the creation of art by Design Build Adventure & Folk Fibers for Billy Reid‘s Austin shop. See more about the project at Billy Reid’s Journal.

Every once in awhile you get to work on a great film. Go see David Gordon Green’s “Joe” in theaters this weekend or rent it on iTunes. It’s outstanding!

I had the privilege last year to work with Richard Linklater on the final year of filming of his 12 Year Project which is now known simply as “Boyhood”. He started shooting the film in 2002 and assembled the same cast every year for a week of filming for 12 years which followed the same actor as he grew through adolescence. I took this photo right after we completed the last shot for the film in west Texas last October. It was amazing to present in that moment and see the emotion on everyone’s faces who had worked on the project for the last 12 years. I got to see an early sneak peek of the film at the cast & crew screening in Austin this week and I can’t wait for the world to see what Richard Linklater has been cooking up for the last 12 years. It’s truly an epic and deeply moving portrait of adolescence and life itself.
